With the current Covid-19 outbreak, we are pushed to maximize whatever is available out there to support our language learning. Two of our most experienced faculty members, Ibu Clara and Ibu Wiwik, analyzed two existing online platforms for foreign language learning: Duolingo and Memrise.The writers used the autoethnography method to compare the efficacy of the two language learning apps for learning Spanish and  Italian respectively. With their own experiences in using the platforms, the authors stated preference over the other because they tended to remember 80- 100 % of words when they repeated the exercises.  Moreover, the writer also discusses the nature of learning, the principles, and the challenges of learning foreign languages using mobile devices.
